  2. I learned that there are many ways to learn, not just memorizing, reading, or learning through experience. There are also many different types of people, and I enjoyed learning how I looked at things. I had an idea, but now I'm more sure. Thank you so much for taking your time to come in and show us these useful tools, Mrs. Brock!

  3. Mom,
Thank you for coming in and talking to our class yesterday. I found it interesting to hear all of the information about different types and how it connected to the book.

  4. Dear Mrs. Brock
Thank you so much for yesterdays presentation you showed to our class. It was very informative and showed me a lot about myself that I did not know. Thank you for sharing your time with us and creating something that we could benifit from. All of this must have taken a lot of thought on your part and I appreciate the thought that you put into this. Thank you very much for coming in and sharing this with us.

  5. I found everything you said terribly interesting, Mrs Brock, thank you so much for coming in. I had no idea that people were classified in these ways. It makes sense, but I never connected these things to learning - it makes me wonder how teachers can accommodate all the types of learning. It must be hard! I was surprised to look into myself and see where I stood, and it made me really think. Is this why I do things this way, and other people do things that way? Everything you said offered some clarity into the behavior of myself and the people around me. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with our class, it was really neat!

  6. I really enjoy human behavior and psychology so having you come in to talk to us about typing ourselves was very interesting. It was helpful to learn more about what to do based on what is easy and natural for me, versus what is difficult, and how to balance preferences with what is necessary. I really appreciated that you gave so much of your time to us to help us learn more about ourselves and A Whole New Mind by Daniel H. Pink.

  7. Mrs. Brock,
I learned so much yesterday. I could not believe how much some of those types matched with me or people I knew. I was really surprised at how those types made such strong connections to my personality, how I act with friends, and how I learn. Thank you so much for coming in and taking time out of your day and life to come talk to us about something that I feel is very vital to learning for every person.

  8. Mrs. Brock,
Thank you so much for taking the time to come in and share all of your great information with us. I couldn't believe how completely you labeled my dad with the "judging" type. It was really interesting to go through some of the exercises and learning what types I was.
You made me realize that I do look for detail in things and like a stuctured assignment. Thank you so much.

  9. Mrs. Brock,
Thank you for coming into our English class yesterday and sharing your knowledge with our class. I learned a lot about how I learn the best, and different things that I need to work on. As in each of the different categories there were good characteristics and things that should be improved upon. This lesson also taught us how we all learn differently and what certain people’s strengths are. I thought this really actually reflected some points in A Whole New Mind as well because some of the categories had a sort of left-brain side and a right-brain side. Thank you for your time.

  10. Mrs. Brock,
Thank you so much for taking the time to come into our class yesterday. I thought that it was so interesting how complicated the brain is and how even though you just went over four different categories of what we could fall in there is already a ton of diversity. I learned that the different type of brain reactions you could have are commonly on both sides of the brain for everyone. I also learned that you can train yourself to be more or less like a certain type. I thought that was so cool because the judging type sounded exactly like me but I am indecisive so I was confused as to what I would be. It made sense overall that I trained myself to be indecisive to help please other people. Thanks again for coming in we really appreciate it!

  11. I really enjoyed learning about the different types of thinking with Mrs. Brock yesterday. I thought that she did an excellent job presenting the different types and how that relates to one personally/what that means for each individual. I felt that she did a better job explaining things than Mr. Pink because she showed us the specific types and explained that they all can perform the same tasks, just with different methods. Overall, I found the different methods of thinking very interesting, thank you, Mrs Brock.

  12. Mrs. Brock,
Your presentation was fabulous yesterday. I learned a lot about myself and found myself very interested and engaged in learning about this. It's interesting how people can fit in the same categories but still be completely different and your presentation brought into light how different we all are, and it was fun to learn more about our classmates as well.

  13. First of all, thank you for coming, Mrs. Brock! The presentation was really interesting and enjoyable. I learned a lot, as well. I learned that I'm an extrovert, a sensory person, feeling, and perceiving. I was surprised at how easy it was to tell what kind of person I am for some, and how difficult it was for others. I liked how much the presentation connected to what Daniel Pink is saying in A Whole New Mind. Thanks again, Mrs. Brock!

  14. Mrs. Brock,

Thank you for presenting to our English Class yesterday. As I continued throughout the rest of the school day yesterday, I was amazed how the discoveries that I made about myself and others helped me to better interact with my peers and perform more effectively in class. I came to appreciate the characteristics presented by those around me that are close to my personality opposites and I recognized the similarities between myself and teacher that had similar personalities or learning types. I know that in the future I will be able to use some of the techniques you suggested for my type. I am also excited to continue strengthening some of the characteristics that I do not use as much. Your presentation has already influenced me to accept myself and others and identify strengths and weaknesses. I know that in the future I will continue to use the information you provided to be effective and successful. Thank you again!

  15. Mrs. Brock,

Thanks you for coming in to talk to our class about how we learn best. One point that I thought was very interesting was the point you made about how our brains have a first reaction and a secondary reaction. It had never occurred to me that I may have both elements. Often times, I think in only one way, a very logistical way, and completely disregard the fact sometimes that I can think in a more intuitive way. One connection that I made was that on some tests, especially math MAPS tests, I try every logical thing I know to do, but if I cannot figure it, I end up going with my intuitive reasoning to select an answer choice. This shows that how I lean towards a logical thinking style, I am able to do both with effectiveness. It surprised me to find out how much I can relate to another side of the brain. I was also surprised that only 25% of females prefer to using thinking rather than feeling. Thanks you again for sharing your expertise in this area. It was very interesting and helped me to better understand Pink's A Whole New Mind.

  16. After Mrs.Brock's fabulous presentation yesterday, I learned more about the Myers-Briggs personality test, also the relation to learning and personality. I found the difference between the sensing and feeling types very compelling. From the explenations I find myself being more sensing and feeling, therefore learn more one on one than in a group. I was suprised that most of the population was to know that most of the population was sensing type. I would think that mostly people would be half and half.
Thank you so much for coming to our class Mrs.Brock.

  17. Mrs. Brock,
Thank you so much for taking the time to teach us more about our brain’s preferences yesterday. I learned so much about why I am such a control freak. I turned out to be the ESTJ type, and I was amazed at the descriptions you gave for that type. Basically everything you said matched up with my personality. I felt like you were giving a presentation about me because the examples you gave for ESTJ were spot on. You explained that I remember conversations very literally, and I agreed completely. Your presentation helped me understand why I act the way I do, and I am forever grateful. Thank you so much for giving the class some expert advice and information!

  18. Mrs. Brock,
Thank you for coming in to talk to our class. It was fascinating to learn about how you can pin point a person's type. After your presentation I found myself trying to figure out my friends types and thinking about how I make decisions and react to certian situations. I learned a lot about myself as a learner and how that connected to the way I react to things. It is interesting to think about why people do things the way they do and how they see the world. Thank you so much for your time and incredible presentation!

  19. Mrs. Brock- Thank you so much for coming in and talking to us. I learned a lot about myself and how I learn. I learned that I am more of a sensing, feeling, and perceiving type of person. This helps because I know the ways that I learn the best and how I usually remember things. After reading A Whole New Mind so far, I realized that I am mainly left brained, although I can be right brained in certain situations. The thing that surprised me was the fact that I am more of an extravert at school, but I seem to be more of an introvert at home. When I am with my friends, I am more outgoing and energetic. When I am at school, I usually tend to lack enthusiasm which shows both sides of how I can be an extravert and an introvert. Thank you for teaching us about the different personality traits and how we think the best.

  20. First and foremost, thank you Mrs. Brock for taking your most valuable commodity, time, to come and talk to us! The presentation was nothing short of fabulous, and I was interested to learn all these new things... not to mention all I learned about myself. I find it so odd that I can fit into different categories that conflict, yet work together. It totally reflected what Daniel Pink is talking about in "A Whole New Mind" and I found this experience quite eye-opening. Thank you once again!

  21. After Mrs. Brock's presentation yesterday, I began to think about and recall the great ideas she put into my head, especially the brain types she introduced us to. I really enjoyed learning about which types I am. For the rest of the day, I was taking note of the way I made decisions, reacted to events and thought about ideas presented to me. I noticed how I instinctively acted all day and how almost everything I did all day was related to the brain types Mrs. Brock introduced to us yesterday. I am very thankful that she took time out of her day to teach us and share with what she does for a living. It was really cool how it all tied into A Whole New Mind. Thank you Mrs. Brock!!!

  22. Mrs. Brock-

I found your presentation very interesting and I learned a lot about myself. Before, I would have thought that I was more of a 'thinking' person. However after yesterday, I realized I am definitely more 'feeling'. I also was able to figure out which one my friends were and how we compared. Now, I am so much more aware of my decisions in different situations and what that means about the way I think. Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity!

  24. Mrs. Brock,
I really enjoyed what you had to say yesterday. I love learning things about myself. The best part was going home and learning about my mom and what her personality type was. She is in the middle and I drift from side to side. I discovered in my left brain right brain testing that I am more right brain. However, when you were talking about the different personality types I realized that I have a lot of the traits of a left brained much of a sensing person I was and now I realize that I remember what I wore in every almost every memory I have. I hope that my discoveries from your speech help me to become a better learner; I am sure they will. Thank you for your time, it was very well spent.

  25. Thank you, Mrs. Brock for the wonderful presentation. It was really helpful in showing me what I do well at, what I need to work on, and how other people act and respond to different things. It was really fascinating to see just how accurate the personality test was in regards to learning and everyday life. It was fairly accurate but as you said, individual qualities sometimes ran between the two categories given to us. However the overall result was very accurate. It also had great relations to A Whole New Mind. Thank you again Mrs. Brock.

Thank you so much for coming in yesterday! I learned alot. Before yesteday, I did not even know that there was a MBTI test. Your expertise really opened up my brain to information Daniel Pink is talking about. Thank you so much, again!

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to come and visit us. I found the information you gave us to be really interesting and informative. I really liked how you explained what each trait was but you did not box a person into that trait only. I also like how you showed us examples of what each looked like. The things that you told us really helped me to understand my learning better and it also helped to show more about my personality. Also the things that you shared were very similar to the idea in AWNM which helps to give another perspective to look at the book. Thank you again!

Thank you so much for coming to talk to us yesterday! I learned so much about people's different personalities and how people can fall into different catergories. I think you taught our class a valuable lesson in how we are all diverse and even if we use on side of the brain more than the other, we still use our whole mind when doing our day to day activities. Thank you so much for the clarification and interseting presentation!

What you said during our class yesterday was very interesting. Thank you for taking your time to talk to us. I particularly thought your emphasis on how many people can fit into both categories. When you told us that little kids are usually are more on one side or the other, while students in high school often will fall near the middle, because we have to learn to work with both sides, using the different skills to our advantage. Thanks again for taking the time to speak to us, it was very insightful, helping me further understand some points in A Whole New Mind.

Thanks for coming into our class and doing the brain activity with us. I had heard of the MBTI test before, but never actually knew what it was about. Your presentation opened a whole new way of thinking for me in terms of Mr. Pink's philosophy on the future. The way that you explained the information helped me to find almost exactly where I thought I fit in the spectrum of thinking.Mr. Pink discusses the attributes of using the skills of both sides of our mind, but you explained methods of how to hone these skills to be more effective.
    Thanks,

  36. Mrs. Brock,

Your lesson/lecture yesterday was really interesting, and I appreciate that you took time out of your day to come and talk to us. For me, it helps to have a classification system like the one you used. It helps me understand myself more, I think, because you actually explained the terms and patterns of people associated with them. This way, I was able to fit myself to them, but I wasn't just given a bunch of stereotypical labels and ask to conform. I also liked how you made sure to point out that neither of the personality traits is better or worse than the other, that neither one is smarter than the other, and that neither one is more or less successful that the other. It was nice that you pointed out the pros and cons, and the strengths and weaknesses of both. Thanks again, I really enjoyed your presentation.

Thank you for taking your time to teach us. I never knew any of that. Because of you I now understand how I learn a lot more and what I need to work on to become and even better student. I can see fairly clear where I fit in in the 16 choices. Seeing all the different types of learning really opened up my eyes and mind to how some people are. I spent all of last night putting my family into the 16 sections. I was able to connect my life to some of the points and reflect on how that makes me, me. So thank you again for coming and expanding my learning.

Thank you so much for coming in to our class yesterday! I was so fascinated with the very interesting information that you shared with us. Your presentation really helped me understand the book more, and realize how I feel about the things that Mr. Pink has said so far.

I thought it was so special that we got to see what our personality characteristics are. I think it really helped us figure out the kind of people we work well with, and also see what kinds of situations we work well in. I felt that after your presentation, I understood the kinds of “brainy” things that Pink has said throughout A Whole New Mind. I also strongly appreciated your point of view about the book; it was nice to hear another opinion about what this book is saying.

  52. Dear Mrs. Brock,
Thank you so much for coming to visit our class. I really enjoyed learning about the different personality types. I especially enjoyed learning about feeling vs. thinking. I noticed that I fit into both categories. My friends usually come and talk to me whenever they are facing difficulty in their lives. I also consider myself good at putting myself in another’s shoes. At the same time, I can be very critical. The people I most respect are the people who seem to know something about everything. I am also hesitant to try new activities for fear of performing poorly. The information you presented was very helpful to me, as I am trying to decide what classes to take next year. Once again, thank you.
